Hi everybody! My name is Teria and I’m the bakehouse owner of Songbird Treats. I am no stranger to the kitchen. I have been helping my Mama and Heavenly Grandmother in the kitchen for as far back as I can remember. From a little girl I’ve had the love of creating delicious desserts for my family. Even after leaving the nest for college, I would make cakes and cookies for my friends.

Fast forward in life; I started making treats for coworkers and eventually my own household. My then three-year-old son made a specific request for his birthday cake (a chocolate cake with chocolate chips, chocolate icing and marshmallows lol); most specifically, he wanted me to make it. From there the love and passion for baking grew even more.

I worked in the corporate world and mentioned my desire to start a baking business during a meeting. Little did I know that opportunity was around the corner! After having my last child, we decided that I would take some time to hold down the home front with our littles in tow. With them running and crawling around, I realized I needed something just for me. Doing something I loved brought me joy and ownership for something of my own.

Over the years I’ve formulated some yummy recipes. So, I started selling cookies to some supportive baseball mamas, friends and neighbors. With the nudge of friends and family, SONGBIRD TREATS was born!! My children and I will make up a song out of anything and we love to have a good time—we are the “Songbirds”. I’ve self-taught and experimented my way into an array of cakes, cookies and other treats to share with others.
